That's because you are looking at it as a replacement for your laptop which tablets are not, even the Microsoft/Samsung tablet is not -- no keyboard -- typing on a screen mostly sucks IMO.
There are many work-related things I can do with my tablet (Server Support things - accessing and restarting servers, etc.) and many I cannot (software development, documentation, etc.).
It all depends on your requirements.
