When I was trying to get vista to boot faster than it takes a hibernating bear to wake up to spring, I found a list of services that can be stopped from automatically running after boot. Among those was this:

Why disable? Because you don’t have one.
And yes, this was a service that had the default setting on startup to Automatic. MS was optimistic.
