If 5 USD are enough to put you off the purchase then by all means don't buy it, but I really fail to see how this makes such a difference.

Why should customers be forced to buy a microSD card when the nook should have enough memory? This basically means you have to spend more money to buy a microSD card that will then use more battery then if all of the internal memory was not partitioned. Do you honestly think this is good overall?
