A quite new post from PG(au), and one of my personal favourites of this author.
SUMMARY: 1925—Prohibition rampant in the States. An English tramp with a gun appears in Littleburg, N.Y.—his presence turns a queer wedding into something still more queer. From then on, flights and persecutions nonstop—small-town worthies, tramps, gangsters and aristocrats chase one another among thrills and humour.
Labelled as "Action" because, although there are crimes and mystery galore, detection is rather absent.
