Five dollars is pretty much my price limit for an ebook purchase. I did make an exception once, however.

I borrow the paper book from the library if the ebook version costs more than I'm willing to pay. I don't re-read books and I've never been much of a "book collector," so I don't really feel the need to actually own books. Before I got my Kindle, I either borrowed fiction from the library or traded books at a local book exchange. I do purchase reference books, though, since I refer to them often.
