Why not just forget about the actual memory size and only consider the available space?
For 139 USD you get a Nook with 240 MB of available space. Some users might consider this to be enough
For 145 USD you get a Nook with more than 4 GB of available space by adding an SD card.
If 5 USD are enough to put you off the purchase then by all means don't buy it, but I really fail to see how this makes such a difference.
