I would like to eventually import the tags in to our database to keep on file. Is this possible?
A "Bulk" (all selected items) Meta-data fetch is built in (Ctrl+d) if you are happy with what you get

IMHO Take your time in the beginning to tune the source choices (see the configure button at the bottom of the Single Metadata edit screen, until you find source (weight) settings that are close to your tastes (Remember GIGO). (As I recently found out) You might need to install some alternate metadata source plugins (found on the PI Updater or within the PI sub-forum)

Wade through the KISS thread https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=145808 it contains a lot of "school of Hard Knocks" gleanings
