Archiving books?

My wife has a Kindle, and I know it's possible to archive books in her collection that she doesn't want to have on her device at the moment. I cannot find any feature like this on my Kobo, and I'm wondering if this is something that's in the works. I know kobobooks.com keeps track of my purchases and bookmarks, so it seems like something that should be easy to implement, but I'm not sure why I cannot do it.

My concerns are this:
  1. I have the Kobo app on my iPod, and I don't want a bunch of books that I've already read taking up space on there.
  2. Although I'm nowhere near using up all the space on my Kobo, I know it will happen eventually and I want to be able to delete purchases from my device to free up space for new ones, without the concern that I'll never be able to access those books again without re-purchasing.
