"Decapod" means 10 legs, or actually, 10 feet. Jointed appendages could be legs (or arms or fingers)
"Deca" =10, as 'bi' or 'duo' =2, 'tri'=3, 'quad=4,
½ - hemi- / semi- / demi- eg. hemisphere. semi-circle
1 - mono- / uni- eg. unique, monosyllabic,
2 - duo / bi - / di- eg. duo , duet, bisexual
3 - tri- / tre / ter eg. triangle, tertiary, triplets
4 - quad eg. quadrilateral, quadruplets
5 - penta/pent/quinqu-/quin eg. pentgon , quintuplets
6 - hexa/ hex / sexa/ sex eg. hexagon, sextuplets
7 - hepta/ hept / septua eg. heptagon
8 - octa/ octo/ oct eg. octagaon, octagenarian, octopuss
9 - ennea/ non/ nona eg. nonagon/enneagon
