We have shared opinions which does not = "true" or "false".
Then write it down as opinion (I find, I think, etc) and not fact (it is).

Yes. I have three (main) devices. One LCD (low resolution, 7", 16:9, 800x480), and 2 e-inks (5" and 6" Pearl). I read the LCD whenever I'm in a darker environment, and the e-inks in a well-lit environment (this can be outside, but also, for example, on the kitchen table with the light turned on or during the day).

I usually only read about 30 minutes each day (not counting the few minutes I manage to catch while waiting for my ride home). Those 30 minutes are all on my LCD. But, during weekends and holidays, I spend more time reading. If I read outside, it'll be on one of my e-inks. For two reasons: I have my JE100 tuned for night time reading, which means a dark background, gray lettering and the backlight turned all the way down. In a well-lit environment you can't even see the screen is on... The other reason is because the battery of my JE100 is aging, and I can't get more than 1 1/2 hours out of it anymore.
However, when I'm reading in bed (which I most often am, considering the average summer we have here...), I'll use my JE100 (plugged in...). For hours on end, if I get the chance...

I never noticed any difference in "eye fatigue" between the two. I do notice it, however, when I'm sitting behind my monitor, when it's dark outside. Especially when I'm posting (like this). The screen is too bright, compared to the surrounding light. (Usually, when I'm sitting behind the monitor, I'll be playing a game...). So, I think those people that complain about eye fatigue are simply reading from a screen that is too bright compared to the surrounding light. As I mentioned here (or somewhere else), my JE100 shines less bright than a candle... (you know, those that you put underneath a pot of tea to keep it warm...)
