Must be different from WA, but here in Queensland you can't buy an eReader at retail very easily anywhere... only Tablets. Talk to sales staff here and they dismiss eReaders as "old stuff – Tablets killed them" (past tense!).
I intend to own a tablet, but to replace my netbook, not to replace my ereader.

Different reason and different purpose.
