There is a difference between fact (truth) and opinion.
We have shared opinions which does not = "true" or "false".
Popular opinion, (non-scientific proof) leans more towards e-ink than LCD when it comes to preventing eye-strain.
Edited to Ask: Have you ever read on an e-ink device? If so, how long did you use it? Have you ever read for an hour or more using e-ink vs LCD? I'm very curious.
As I mentioned earlier, I used to read on my iPhone, and I've read on my PC. I have also borrowed my S-I-L's Nook for about 45 mins give or take, and the difference between it and my Kindle were quite noticeable. I asked her why she chose the Nook, and she said it was the buttons (or lack there of). The Kindle had too many buttons, to the Nooks few; she likes the Nooks navigation better as its easier on her hands/fingers.
