I've been waiting for it. Amazon set up their APP store first and got people use to using it even before they had a device that could utilize it.
A lot of your cheap Android tablets using 2.1 or so, don't have access to the market at all without hackery. Not a problem with Amazon, come on over.. If google didn't want these tablets to run phone version of Android, I think they should have exercised a little more control over what it could be put on.
Hey the manufacturers didn't care, they saw the iPad and had to get something out the door. Consumer is the one that suffered for that. Yes you can get market on with hackery, but many consumers aren't going to go through the trouble, but thats ok. Google said your 2.2 isn't good enough? Amazon says it is..come on over..
If I were google, I'd want my users to have a more consistent experience.. not this device is awesome, but wait, this one was crap.
But its ok, Google can thank Amazon for taking control and showing them how to do it.
I've made up my mind I won't buy another kindle e-ink until they go color. I don't see how Kindle 3 could get much better.
