So Guttenburg, Mobil Reads, and Feedbooks are not good places to get books? Or is it that they don't have thousands of free books that can be downloaded onto a Kindle? Never mind the folks who buy books from Baen and Fictionwise and Waterhouse (the UK gang). Or the folks who buy from where ever they want and remove the DRM. Anyone who falls into any of those catagories, and there are more then a few, can side load their books onto their Kindle and not worry about memory restrictions outside of the 4GB restriction.

Remove the Kindle from the discussion. Does Sony or Kobo have their memory set up so that only a certain percentage can be used for books bought from other stores? I believe the answer is no.

So of the big four e-readers, only BN has a system that sets aside memory for side loaded books sold by someone other then their book store.

Is it that big of a deal? Who knows. If I bought a Nook Color because I wanted a well priced mini tablet that can read books from many different stores and I find that I cannot add all the books that I want because of how the memory is partitioned it probably is. When I buy an e-reader that tells me I can store 3,500 books on it I might want to store 3,500 books on it. I shouldn't have to use a memory card to store books until I have hit that limit.

The Memory card is nice but why should people have to use it when they have space on their device.

It is stupid.
So out of the bjg four only the kindle doesnt support epub. That is stupid. So let me gets this straight. Telling people to strip drm and use calibre to convert is not stupid or an inconvience. But the whole 3seconds it takes to pop in an sd card is? Wow. Just a wow
