I think I'm probably to blame for starting that particular trend.

The reason I did was that I got tired of hitting the "View Poll Results" every time I wanted to see the results of a poll that I didn't have an opinion on, or wasn't qualified to vote in (such as one aimed at iLiad users: I ain't one, so I can't really vote without skewing the results, unless there's an opt-out type choice).

Once you vote for any of the options, it always shows you the results when you return to the thread, without having to do anything special, so I thought, "why not include an 'opt out' type of answer?" So I did. Judging by the prevalence of them, I guess others liked the idea too.
