There is nothing special about Kindle/Amazon books except the incompatible DRM. It hasn't been demonstrated that the ebook you buy at Amazon differs in content (i.e., the story content) from the ePub version you buy at Sony or B&N.
Or are you saying that you have evidence that authors and publishers sell one version at Amazon and a redacted version elsewhere?
