If you only have K4PC installed on one PC, then fire up K4PC and look in the blue Windows title-bar, on the very top left and see if it says "Kindle for PC" or "Kindle for PC 2"
Whatever it says up there... you can de-register the
other one on your Amazon page.

I've never heard of such a thing.
I'd call Kindle support if I were you... that's definitely not normal behavior.
