The lack of other fonts like charis is NOT a bug!! You can add charis to Kobo if you wish.

I think you are misunderstanding. ePub allows font embedding. Charis SIL is the font most publishers embed in ePub when they embed fonts. The font-family code in the CSS that activates the embedded font is put in the body CSS style. It is supposed to work in ADE. It works in ADE for Wndows and MAC, it works in ADE on Sony and ADE on the nook. It doesn't work on the Kobo. If you put the font-family in the body CSS style, the embedded font will not display. And that means that most publisher ePub won't work as intended when they have embedded font(s).
