You say the library isn't Overdrive, but what is the DRM they're using then? Are they using Adobe's? If so, then you won't have to convert or strip the DRM for Kobo/Nook/Sony.

However, if it isn't Adobe's, are you sure you will be able to strip it? From what I understand, there are some DRM schemes that haven't been cracked.

I'd suggest talking to your school library about ereaders; they are probably the only ones who can answer the question of whether you can log into their site using an ereader.
