I understanding keeping local copies for safeguarding, but they don't all have to be kept in the "My Kindle Content" folder at once do they? If you remove DRM you don't have to keep them in that folder at all. And even if you don't remove DRM, those local copies will only be good as long as that computer's hard-drive is around (and only good for that particular instance of K4PC).

I guess I just don't understand keeping 500-1000 ebooks in Kindle for PC's local folder unless you use your PC to do all of your reading on.

Enlighten me.

Even if it's simply; "I just like having them all there to look at."
