So to re-iterate: who cares if you can't buy epubs on the device. If this weren't limited to australia, I still wouldn't care.
You can buy a book on your computer and then load it on to the reader via USB, just like you could with earlier models.

The benefit of wifi is hardly "buying books without the computer" but using the internet or any local network to get instant data.
