The current Sonys are aluminum. But you better snatch one up because the new fall model just announced is going to be plastic. I don't know of any other metal reader.
I'm not sure if your health issue is with touch or with off-gassing but if it's with touch, have you thought about a case? There are various cases for various readers available, including fabric and leather. If you don't find a lot of options for the pocketbook, check etsy.com where someone might make a case specifically for your reader.
