Some of my old faves as a child hold up well to adulthood - Sue Townsend's
The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 for example. (I wish
that was available for the Kindle since my old copy is only held together by scotchtape!)

The Choose Your Own Adventure books (mostly by R. A. Montgomery) are available on Kindle (there are around 30 of them)
