It is a matter of opinion. I have found myself bored in the books these days. The overall series is taking far too long to unfold. I am tired of seeing everything from Harry's perspective. I missed the release of the last two weeks by a while because I am no longer looking for the books.

I'll read the next book because I am invested in the series but I have no long how long that feeling will last. I would be fine, excited even, if Jim were to announce that the next book would be the last book.

Codex Alera told a complex story with many different characters from many points of view and was done in 6 books. I was seriously bummed when that series ended. Dresden feels, to me, like Jim is looking to put his kids through school and knows that he has an audience that is willing to pay for the next book. It is dragging.

I know there are many folks who feel differently.
