China is known to censor what can travel over the air waves. I do remember people being very excited that they could use the Kindle Browser in China and being able to access web sites you could not get on most computers.

What this means is that anyone with a Kindle in China can subscribe to Western papers and read what is happening in the world without it being filtered by the Chinese Government.

That is huge.
