But do be aware that Bikeridr's help refers to Icelandic - which you didn't mention in your OP, and which would be different from other Nordic languages. In Danish "y" is often pronounced somewhere between "u" an "oo" in English. A single "d" is usually quite hard, but a bit less voiced than it would be in English, though a "dd" is much closer to English "th".
