This weekend I was in a bookstore with a friend of mine. (His idea, not mine.)

He said, "It's great that you read so much. I notice that my vocabulary and other things aren't as good now since I finished school and stopped reading books. You're probably the only one I know who reads a lot."

Then, when I tried to suggest a book or two that he might like, he backed away in horror.
