As you will have seen from other threads the market works for some people and not others. Not being able to use the market is not the end of the world as those of us in other parts of the world have found.
One thing I must say - DON'T fiddle with the system files! Doing so has lead to tears for many people and in some cases a total right-off of the device.
If there is a particular app that you want that is only available on the market - most that work on the eDGe devices are available from other sites - ask here and someone can usually provide it if it is a free app.
