I was just noticing after lots of time on the cradle, my 500 has a lot of burn in. I'm hoping it will fade with page turns, but might have to go back to Sony before my 3 yr warranty is out if it doesn't improve. It doesn't stand out too much with normal text covering it, but when portions of the screen are blank it does look pretty bad.

Not enough to change any of my opinions of this device, though. I'll still stick, for now, with my Treo and my Sony Reader.

But it would definitely be good news if newer models have less burn-in.
