At least 500 pixels on the shortest side. I'd go for at least 600x800.

But anything too big will get rescaled for display, so the exact pixel dimensions aren't vital. I would stick to portrait rather than square, and no squarer than 3x4.

But there's certainly no recommendation in the specs.
