I met Brackett many years ago, shortly after her stint working on the Star Wars film. She was an affable no-nonsense woman, under no illusions about Hollywood, and a superb craftsman who could probably have written in any genre. I think her first love was SF, and she was married to well known SF writer Edmond Hamilton, who she wed in 1946.
