You're right, it does look like the high gloss finish you see on flat screen TVs nowadays (which I personally hate, but it's near impossible to find a matte finish anymore). And if that's the case, you'll definitely have to put a skin over it or that glare would drive me nuts. When I was initially checking out all ereaders and was looking at the Nook, the high gloss on the white frame drove me nuts even just reading in the store for a few minutes. Even though it's not on the text where you're reading coming from the glass, it's annoying and distracting enough to me so that I was constantly tilting the Nook while reading trying to reduce the glare.
I can't believe they did that. And the curved bottom (which I already said I absolutely hate about the reader).
Btw, can anyone tell where that stylus would slide in? It doesn't look like any place on the top (or the cover is badly designed and hides the slot), and the bottom looks like headphone jack, USB jack, and SD card slot? And this stylus looks fatter/thicker than the current stylus on the 350/650.
