Your right, it IS important that information is given, and given in a timely fashion so people can take the proper precautions BEFORE there is loss of human life. And that IS being done. It just doesn't need to be done in a histrionic fashion the way much of Big Media is doing.

We KNOW there will be flooding... so get out of the area.
We KNOW there will be wind damage... so get out of the area.
We have been warned far enough in advance to board up the windows, move outside furniture to a safer place, to stock up on life-support items such as food, water, batteries, toilet paper, and Oreo cookies.

We do NOT need to frighten the little children with monsters in the dark.
