This is a picture taken from one of the US universities, where, the last time I've checked, tuition fees were measured in tens of thousands of (US, but still... ) dollars? Sounds to me that, at the price, they are entitled to do whatever they want as long as it is not obstructing the class. Why, the ban on computers is going to make the class more interesting?

The last thing I want to see as a prof is a class full of glazed eyes, "thousand miles stare" faces daydreaming while I speak. I am certain that the room will be half full next week. Let them "screw around", some of the noise that I am making might penetrate their subconsciousness.
