largest age block of ereader owners is over 55. Among elderly/retired, (an unknown subset of over 55 group) for whom simplicity of use is key, and who comprise largest population of adults who never needed to develop computer skills, surviving elderly females outnumber surviving elderly males. Also note largest age block of tablet owners is 25-34, an age range in which many women are having families. Many are single moms, with less budget for expensive toys, so will stick to computers and smartphone , and even if not single, with less time between family life and working may not feel need to try out latest-greatest iteration of tech. just saying it may be generation-related, time of life/ role-related rather than a function of gender per se.
