Sorry. I didn't mean rational as opposed to irrational, but rational in the economic sense, as in getting to a result that maximizes satisfaction. With an open vote, there's a higher likelihood of picking a book that more people will be willing to read.

Ask away, if you ask me. Why shouldn't things be discussed?
