I ended up reading the Yvette Edwards one, just finished it, and it was very good too. Not as good as Barry, because Barry's prose is one of its kind, but with a very, very good storyline. On to the next one....

Edited: could not resist, am reading "the stranger's child". Have a strong feeling it is going to be the winner, although I think Barnes and Barry deserve it too. All 3 write beautifully imo.
