Stay safe! And keep your heads down but let's hope she brings you some rainfall (but not tooooooo much all at once).
I've just read the NOAA Climate Prediction Center's report this month which says: "Along with a few other models, the latest runs from the NCEP Climate Forecast System (CFS) models predict La Niņa to re-develop during the fall." That's dreadful news. The La Niņa we were in until recently contributed (together with the stubborn high pressure dome that has hung over us all summer) to our incredible drought. Cool Pacific ocean temperatures lead to low moisture levels in the air blowing over the southern U.S. blowing our way and often lead to very dry winters here. If we're headed back into a La Niņa, we really are looking at some serious trouble in the southern U.S. over the coming 10 months or more.
