Just completed The Lock Artist by Steve Hamilton. I thought the storyline interesting unique even and the writing improved as it went along. The first 30 pages were not impressive, though. I'd grade it a C+ [3 stars] for suspense and mild twist at the end although not totally unexpected.
Next is more classic sci-fi with Way Station by Clifford Simak.
