Agreed. A foul that is exacerbated by the fact that we
know they wanted something similar to the original. That's no small distinction that they tried to license to original. There's precedent for that sort of thing being factored in by the courts, in fact. Thankfully, it doesn't appear the original artist will have to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a lawsuit.
