Xenophon, Mrs. NatCh, and Patricia, good luck to all of you and know that the pain does end and it can all be worth the effort. "Good for the soul" as my prof used to say. He should just be glad somebody didn't didn't slug him! Seriously, it's quite an achievement, as you well know, and you really should be proud of that.

It's curious that I haven't dreamed about prelims and dissertations in many years and yet to this day I still occasionally dream of going to take the final exam for a class that I never quite seemed to ever show up to the lectures for. Maybe it's because that one struck a little too close to home. I'd be willing to bet, though, that you've each had a similar dream many times yourselves.
