Your justification is just silly. This is not about "oh I have reader xyz and I demand that we get pdq for it". What this is about is fair play. You know, being able to purchase an eBook in the format needed. It isn't fair play when Amazon gets some author to sign up for exclusivity. It isn't fair play when an author forgets there are people who do not buy eBooks from Amazon. It isn't fair play when people with a Kindle think it's OK for Amazon to try to take over the world. It isn't fair play to their customers when Amazon shoves an obsolete format at them. And it isn't fair play when Amazon stifles creativity.
