AFAIK The kindle does not eceive these emails either. They go through Amazon which then places them on your reader. Amazon has pretty much total control of your kindle when it is online.

As mentioned by itimpi the calibre content server is an easy way to accomplish the same thing on most devices. Plus it will not invade your privacy. And it is kind of neat as well
