Sorry to rain on the old parade, but I do find it so boring when people - sometimes with, apparently, precious little knowledge of the subject - are happy to criticise, and bestow all manner of mean and nasty motives, conspiracy theories, unfounded plans, and plain unpleasantness on someone who has already done an enormous amount of good for disadvantaged and sick children, plans to continue this, and indeed increase it.
You know, like they have much better ideas themselves ?

Obviously, it is possible that many of those who do this carry out an incredible amount of unpaid work in this field themselves, and for some reason see JKR's activities as not enough, considering her self-made wealth, and that bankers, politicians, and political parties, the oil business, etc. aren't obliged to do so - perhaps because they don't write entertaining books for children, but do far more meaningful things like mess about with countries' economies...........

Indeed some contributions in this vein seem to smack of pure spite, or could it possibly be envy ?

Not, of course, about the fact that Ms.Rowling has a lot of money, oh no, heaven forbid............
It's probably that she came with her charity initiatives just a bit before they did ? Yes, that's bound to be it...............
