here's a yellow rose in Texas, That I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her, Not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her It like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, We nevermore will part.
She's the sweetest little rosebud That Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, They sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, And sing of Rosalee,
But the YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS Is the only girl for me.

No wake-up music in my mind but when I got here, it certainly started up! When I looked for YouTube videos of it, all I could find were various pics of either sexy Blonds or white Pinup Girls...
But the song is about a Negro woman... I guess that just wasn't socially acceptable to most of the South so they never realized it when it was adopted as 'Southern Music.'
Anyway, good morning everyone! A bit cooler today and no rain predicted. I'll start it with a mug of Ceylon Uva tea and a dish of Babbaganoush and pita, with some feta cheese and Kalamata olives on the side. I DO love Babbaganoush but somehow forgot about it this past year. Easy to make and sooooo delicious! (Recipe in the Food & Drink thread.)
