I wouldn't say so... if it's not designed to accept grease and breadcrumbs, I don't consider that a design flaw... that just means meal tables are an environment it was not specifically designed for... like being 10 feet underwater, say. If a reader that is
intended to be used underwater shorts out the moment it gets wet...
that's a design flaw.
