The icy mint flavor is made of propylene glycol (E1520), mint, jambu, galangal, ginger and isopulegol [1]. The icy mint syrup contains sugar, glucose syrup, fructose, water, natural flavors, citric acid (acidifier) and patent blue (E131 dye) [2].
In the Caribbean, a popular belief that icy mint lotion can separate two people. For this, we recorded the names of two victims on the bottle and is coated with lotion a doorknob that both people have to touch [7]. Icy mint is also used in Martinique to prepare cleaning baths against negative entities and charms of protection [8]. There is no scientific evidence of the effectiveness of these recipes.
