Exact Steps for the googlersif the volume on the kindle is too low)
1. download install audacity
2. open teh target mp3
3. select all (ctrl+a)
4. effects > amplify
5. slide the slidebar to the right > check the checkbox
6. hit ok
7. file menu > and export as mp3

This new mp3 should be loud enough on the kindle.
Glad this worked for you. However, you shouldn't need to amplify volume on a properly working kindle on a normal sound file. I wonder if you had low volume sound files, or if you are boosting the sound to overcome a problem with your Kindle. Try text to speech on a book to see if your normal kindle sound is loud enough.
