... And the modern urban fantasy stuff is more along the line of super hero stuff. Traditional horror supernatural was the pov of a ordinary mortal who couldn't escape the ravening beast.
Today, we either have some supernatural vampire Killer with powers of their (her) own, or we have immortal, super-powered vampires/werewolves who are good guys.
