Up to the author/publisher of course, but as Amaradoll says it is their loss.

The universally viewable format is still paper and then their are quite a few kindle apps for various devices so it is not like anybody is being excluded.

Sony is going to get a LOT of advertising/press/name recognition for their working with Pottermore. People will know about Sony soon. And if the articles saying the only way to get the Harry Potter eBooks in 2011 is bundled with a Sony, then Sony will sell more in the USA.
